Drafted Russian rapper, 27, takes his own life after telling fans ‘I’m not ready to kill’ in Ukraine in haunting message

A DRAFTED Russian rapper reportedly took his own life after telling fans “I’m not ready to kill” in a haunting final message.

Ivan Vitalievich Petunin, 27, who went by the stage name Walkie, said he couldn’t “take the sin of murder on my soul” after he was called up to fight in Putin’s barbaric Ukraine war.

As the tyrant’s war continues to falter and troops lose ground on the battlefield, Putin is attempting to scramble 300,000 extra soldiers to the frontline.

But many Russian men have been desperately looking for ways to avoid the draft to stop themselves from being sent to die in Ukraine.

On Friday, Petunin’s body was found near a high-rise building in the Russian city of Krasnodar after the musician recorded a tragic final video on his Telegram channel, Mail Online reports.

The rapper, who previously served in the Russian Army, told his fans: “If you are watching this video, then I am no longer alive.

“I can’t take the sin of murder on my soul and I don’t want to. I am not ready to kill for any ideals.

“I choose to remain in history forever, as a man who did not support what was happening.”

He added: “I am not ready to take up arms and kill my own kind.”

Petunin, who had previously been treated in a mental hospital, said taking his own life was “a way to express his final protest”.

He also believed Putin’s partial mobilisation of troops to the frontline would soon turn into full mobilisation.

After Petunin’s death, his girlfriend reportedly posted: “Everything happened unexpectedly… he will always be a bright and kind person who loves to joke.”

Tributes have poured in on his social media pages from devastated fans.

One branded the rapper a “legend” while another wrote: “I hope you found peace.”

Another fan said: “Life is so unpredictable, who would have thought… he was such a bright guy.”

Other Russian men have reportedly been hastily getting married or registering themselves as carers for elderly children in a bid to get out of the war – with some reported to have broken their own arms to escape the draft.

There have been huge tailbacks at the borders and a rush to buy flights out of Russia as men try to flee the Kremlin’s grip.

Shocking footage even showed one man setting himself on fire at a railway station in Ryazan, 110 miles southeast of Moscow, to avoid being sent to the frontline.

Another stomach-churning video showed the moment a Russian man deliberately broke his leg in a desperate attempt to avoid being shipped off to Ukraine.

As Putin’s war rages on, NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg said the tyrant has brought the world one step closer to nuclear Armageddon.

In a chilling warning, he said: “Putin has mobilised hundreds of thousands of more troops, engaged in irresponsible nuclear sabre rattling and now illegally annexed more Ukrainian territory.

“Together, this represents the most serious escalation since the start of the war.

“NATO reaffirms its unwavering support for Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“We remain resolute in providing support to Ukraine as it continues to defend itself against Russia’s aggression, for as long as it takes.”

Putin formally inked decrees declaring Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia to be Russian territory on Friday following a series of sham referendums.

The ruthless landgrab was made official at the Georgievsky Hall of the Great Kremlin Palace in a signing ceremony.

Putin was late showing up to the huge gathering of his cronies and then issued a long, rambling, nonsensical diatribe.

And just moments after the deranged speech, Ukraine officially applied to become part of NATO.
