DUGGAR fans were shocked by a ‘painful’ detail in Joy-Anna’s new photo.

She defied family rules by posing in a short dress for her friend’s wedding, but that wasn’t why dozens were concerned.

Joy-Anna, 24, attended her friend Carlin Bates’ brother’s wedding in San Diego, California on Saturday.

A boat served as the picturesque wedding venue – and when it was over the Counting On alum posed with Carlin as the sun had set on a pier.

Joy-Anna wore a short blue polka dot dress and smiled with her pal and the latter’s baby; Carlin captioned the photo “got to see my best friend.”

The mother-of-two regularly defies the strict rules that her parents Jim Bob, 55, and Michelle, 54, follow as part of their conservative Christian lifestyle.

The women in their family are urged not to show their arms or legs or wear revealing styles.

Though Joy-Anna did just that for the wedding, as she posed with her brunette hair back in a bun – fans felt she appeared to have had too much fun in the sun

‘BURNT CHICKEN NUGGET’

The photo caught wind on Reddit, where one fan wrote: “That sunburn looks painful,” with 200 upvotes.

Another wrote: “I hope they put sunscreen on her kids. Poor babies,” wrote another.

Indeed, even more fans noted Joy-Anna’s face looked extremely red compared to her friend.

“That sunburn! That foundation!” bashed a third, as Carlin’s complexion did ‘pale in comparison.’

“Joy is sporting a nasty sunburn and it looks like Carlin is trying to cover one up with mismatched foundation,” wrote another.

“Not all pics need to be posted,” wrote a fifth.

“Doesn’t look pregnant,” another bluntly speculated – Joy-Anna and her hubby Austin Foresyth have two children and some have spotted clues another could be on the way.

Someone celebrated her freedom and wrote; “Joy may look like a burnt chicken nugget right now, but she does seem happy.”

BURNT OUT

The ex-TLC star also recently reunited with Carlin – who welcomed the pictured baby in March – in Nashville.

“Spontaneous trip to Tennessee for some much needed girl time!” Joy-Anna wrote to Instagram.

She showed off her legs while posing with her friend in photos in skintight leggings and baseball caps.

Earlier in the day, also wore a yellow V-neck dress with a tiered skirt that ended just below the knee while grabbing coffee with Carlin.

They also hit the hair salon.

Aside from Joy-Anna, her sister Jill has arguably been the most open about breaking her family’s rules.

The 30-year-old recently wore a short blue dress that rested above her knees as she met fellow reality TV stars, Little People, Big World’s Jeremy and Audrey Roloff.

Jill has also been seen in gym shorts, strapless tops, and jeans, in defiance of the family’s strict dress code.

JOSH’S ARREST

Meanwhile, Joy-Anna’s Nashville and San Diego trips come after her brother Josh’s shocking arrest in April.

The disgraced former reality star was charged with two counts of possessing and receiving child pornography.

Shortly after his arrest, Joy-Anna and her husband, Austin Forsyth, said in a statement: “The recent accusation brought against Josh sadden us to our core.

Josh was granted bail after getting caught with “possessing 65 images of child pornography.”

Despite his release, Josh has restricted travel and cannot leave Benton, Washington and Madison counties in Arkansas without permission from the court.

His trial begins in November and he faces up to 20 years in prison if found guilty.
