On Thursday, the girls reminisced with DeGeneres about some of their favorite celebrity encounters as kids. McClelland, now 15, said meeting pop star Justin Bieber at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards was her “favorite memory.”
“When he kissed me on the cheek at the Kids’ Choice Awards, obviously at that time I was like, ‘Ew, a boy, he’s kissing me on the cheek,’ ” McClelland told DeGeneres. “And now I’m like, ‘Oh my god, I’d let Justin Bieber kiss me on the cheek again.’ “
Brownlee, now 19, gushed about running into rapper Drake on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards.
“Me and my dad have always been huge fans of Drake,” Brownlee said. “I saw him just casually coming down the Grammy carpet when we were there, and I was like, ‘Drake, my dad loves you so much,’ and we had a chat with him and he ate some of our candy.”
Brownlee also reflected on the whirlwind moment of meeting Minaj on the “Ellen” show.
“When (the doors) opened, I literally looked in every single direction but the one that she was coming out of,” Brownlee recalled. “And then when I finally saw her, it was just chaos and it was great.”
Both Brownlee and McClelland shared they’re pursuing careers in music, with both having recently put out singles. The girls wrapped up their visit by recreating their “Super Bass” rendition, pink sparkly wands in hand.
As children, Brownlee and McClelland starred in the 2014 adventure comedy “Sophia Grace & Rosie’s Royal Adventure.” They also guest starred on the Nickelodeon sitcom “Sam & Cat,” which starred Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy.
