ENGLAND and Wales had among the world’s highest excess death rates during the first wave of coronavirus, a new study has found.
The study comes as Greater Manchester and Lancashire potentially move into a Tier 3 lockdown to stem the rising tide of Covid cases
The move would place both areas on “very high alert,” with pubs forced to shut if they cannot operate as restaurants and households banned from mixing, according to Sky News.
Meanwhile Sadiq Khan has piled pressure on the PM to put London on an “inevitable” lockdown in the next few days, banning households from mixing indoors if cases jump over 100 per 100,000.
