A MAKEUP-free Ivanka Trump has championed cooped-up Americans for “showing strength and saving lives” during the coronavirus pandemic.
Looking fresh-faced, she thanked people in an Instagram video for tackling the “enormous challenge” of remaining socially distanced beyond Easter, as the US death toll nears 3,000.
She said: “The president and the Coronavirus Task Force just announced they would be officially extending the guidance on social distancing until the end of April, April 30th.
“It goes without saying that this will be an enormous challenge – for all of us individually, and collectively.
“But those lucky enough to be in a position to stay at home, please, please do so.”
Ivanka added: “Each and every one of us plays a role in slowing the spread.
“And social distancing saves lives; it has saved lives, and it will continue to save lives.
“In these toughest of times America always shows her strength and her resilience, and that will happen again.”
Ivanka also commented alongside her clip that, “this will end, and we will emerge stronger than ever before.
“Please do your part. We are all in this together.”
Her positive stance came after her dad, President Donald Trump, announced that more was being done to “vanquish the virus”.
At the White House’s Rose Garden yesterday, he said: “We’re unleashing every tool in our nation’s vast arsenal — economic [and] medical.
“Throughout this great national struggle, the American people have embodied the unrivalled patriotism and willpower that has led America to conquer every challenge.
“More than 90 percent of Americans say they’re staying home as much as possible, putting their lives, their careers, their educations, and their dreams on hold out of devotion to their fellow citizens and to their country.
“Social distancing: That’s the way you win.”
The president added that the Covid-19 “peak, the highest point of death rates is likely to hit in two weeks.
“Nothing would be worse than declaring victory before the victory is won. That would be the greatest loss of all.
“Therefore, [during] the next two weeks… it’s very important that everyone strongly follow the guidelines.”
Despite previously indicating that the task force’s 15-day bid to stifle the virus would meet his Easter deadline, the rules on social distancing would need to be stretched beyond that ‘aspirational’ timeframe, he said.
“We will be extending our guidelines to April 30th to slow the spread.
“On Tuesday, we will be finalizing these plans and providing a summary of our findings, supporting data, and strategy to the American people.
“We can expect that, by June 1st, we will be well on our way to recovery.
“We have the best science, the best researchers, and the best talent anywhere working night and day to protect your family and loved ones and to overcome this pandemic,” the president said.
His comments came before today’s revelation that a US Secret Service employee has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The agency said in a statement early Monday that it will continue to monitor the employee’s condition.
The worker is in quarantine.
The Secret Service says that after carrying out an assessment on the risk of the disease spreading, it established the employee has had no contact with other staff members or anyone the agency is responsible for protecting over nearly the past three weeks.
Spooks from the agency provide security protection for the president and his family, among other high-ranking US officials.
