If you’re thinking about getting a new MacBook Pro laptop, you might want to hold off on the current models. When comparing the upcoming MacBook Pro to its predecessor from 2019 that used Intel’s 8th gen chipsets, it seems that there will be a boost in speed by approximately 12%, and also an boost in GPU performance by about 30%. These gains alone, especially if you plan to keep your laptop around for years, means that it could be worth holding out until the laptops are announced, unless you desperately need a new one right now.

As to when the new MacBook Pros will be announced, last we heard, there was a rumor claiming that Apple could host an event on the 31st of March. Apple typically hosts events multiple times a year, where the first one usually takes place in the early part of the year, so this rumor of a 31st of March event isn’t entirely out of the question.

In addition to the possibility of Apple refreshing its MacBook Pro lineup, other products that have been rumored for an announcement include the iPhone SE 2 and also an iPad Pro refresh.
