The daily gossip: February 14, 2020

Th third season of Netflix’s Stranger Things ended with a wild cliffhanger when fan-favorite character Hopper, played by David Harbour, seemed to die. Or at least, it would have been a wild cliffhanger, if everyone hadn’t instantly realized there was no way Stranger Things would actually kill off its breakout star. Perhaps that’s why the first trailer for the upcoming fourth season of Stranger Things just shrugs and gives the whole game away, revealing that Hopper is, indeed, alive (and being held captive in Russia). Remember the golden rule of comic-book storytelling, everybody: If you don’t see a body, that character isn’t dead. [The Hollywood Reporter]
