Hit Series El Juego De Las Llaves Picked Up For Season 2 & 3 On PANTAYA And Amazon Prime

El Juego de las Llaves (The Game of Keys), a sexually provocative half-hour Spanish-language hit series that debuted in the U.S. on PANTAYA and worldwide on Amazon Prime Video in August 2019, was picked up for two more seasons.

The dramedy is PANTAYA’s first original production, part of the streaming service’s push to create first-run unique content for the platform.

PANTAYA won’t release how many subscribers it has or how many people saw El Juego de las Llaves, but greenlighting two more seasons in one shot signals their confidence in the show.

Season 1 followed eight friends in Mexico City who are in stable relationships, but venture into a game of sexual discovery that involves switching partners to spice up their love life. But what starts out as an adventure on a dare has unintended consequences that impact all of their lives.

“The first season of El Juego de las Llaves broke the mold by bringing the taboo topic of modern-day swinging into the social conversation, adding new depth and perspectives on how we approach relationships and commitment,” says James Farrell, VP, International Originals at Amazon Studios. “Audiences are not going to want to miss the new seasons of the series as the story takes us even further into the world of ethical non-monogamy.”

Named the Best Series of 2019 by GQ Mexico,  El Juego de las Llaves stars Maite Perroni (Cuidado Con El Angel, Rebelde), Humberto Busto (El Chapo, Oso Polar), Marimar Vega (La Boda de Valentina, Amor de mis Amores), Sebastián Zurita (Ciudadano Buelna, Cómo cortar a tu Patán), Horacio Pancheri (Un Camino Hacia el Destino), Fabiola Campomanes (Teresa, Mi Corazón Es Tuyo), Hugo Catalán (Falsa Identidad), and Ela Velden (Caer en Tentación, Despertar Contigo).

El Juego de las Llaves was created by Marisa Quiroga and developed by Patrick McGinley, Veronica Bellver and Corazon Films’ Sandro Halphen, alongside Amazon Prime Video and PANTAYA. The new seasons of the series will be directed by Kenya Márquez, Javier Colinas and Roberto Fiesco and produced by PANTAYA and Corazón Films. Eckehardt von Damm, Roberto Fiesco and Sandro Halphen of Corazón Films serve as producers.

The series is slated to return in 2020, launching exclusively on Prime Video in Mexico and more than 200 countries and territories around the world, and on PANTAYA in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
