Harvey Weinstein’s ‘personal spy’ reveals she befriended rape accuser Rose McGowan to get dirt on her

A FORMER private eye has revealed how she befriended Harvey Weinstein’s alleged rape victim Rose McGowan after the disgraced movie mogul hired her to spy on his accusers.

Israeli Stella Penn Pechanac, 36, used several aliases to dig dirt on the Scream star and other women with sex assault allegations against Weinstein.

The operative at Israeli intelligence firm Black Cube bluffed her way into meetings with McGowan just months before the allegations wrecked the Hollywood producer’s career.

She convinced McGowan she was Diana Filip, an executive from asset management firm Reuben Capital Partners, who wanted the actress to speak at a gala dinner, reports the Mail on Sunday.

The pair met for drinks and “girls’ nights out” and McGowan even told the spy there was “no one else in the world I can trust”.

Weinstein — who is accused of sexual misconduct against some 70 women – is said to have tasked the intelligence firm with two primary tasks, which were allegedly outlined in a contract dated July 11, 2017 between his lawyers and the British arm of Black Cube.

According to the Mail on Sunday, those objectives were to “provide intelligence which will help the Client’s efforts to completely stop the publication of a new, negative article in a leading NY newspaper”, and to “obtain additional content of a book which is currently being written and which includes harmful negative information on and about the Client”.

As part of the operation, codenamed Parachute, Black Cube introduced Stella to Weinstein.

Stella’s main task was to befriend McGowan, obtain a draft of her memoir, and discredit it.

In late 2017, Black Cube operatives are said to have met Weinstein – and a blonde woman called “Anna” read passages from McGowan’s upcoming book – to which Weinstein is said to have repeatedly muttered: “Oh my God.”

In her interview with the Sunday publication, Stella said she has now left her job at Black Cube.

But she insists she was never involved in any honeytraps.

She told the newspaper: “I was never a Bond girl. I was James.

“Weinstein was respected, everyone wanted to work for him, with him. We had this new project, it was like a big deal, a huge client coming in. He was facing serious allegations, and there were suspicions there was a negative campaign against him. “

She added: “I’ve worked on cases like this before so it was just another of those, a commercial negative campaign but on a much bigger scale because of Weinstein.”

Weinstein is currently awaiting trial on charges of rape and sexual assault and has pleaded not-guilty while also maintaining his innocence in relation to allegations of sexual misconduct.
