Consumer Reports: Samsung Galaxy Buds Offers Better Sound Quality than AirPods Pro

AirPods Pro

The AirPods Pro have been praised for their excellent sound quality and noise cancellation. However, in its testing, Consumer Reports claims that while the AirPods Pro “sound really good,” it still falls behind Samsung’s Galaxy Buds in the sound quality department.

Consumer Reports claim that the AirPods Pro brings “significant improvement in sound” coupled with features that consumers love makes the AirPods Pro a great choice. It offers “superb audio blocking performance,” with the new design helping block outside noise. The new “transparency” mode is also well done, though it has not been invented by Apple as many people believe.

It also found the battery life of the AirPods Pro unchanged from the regular AirPods.

Overall though, while the AirPods Pro are quite impressive, Consumer Reports claims that they “still don’t meet the audio quality” of their top pick, the Samsung Galaxy Buds. Samsung’s offering is also notably cheaper at $130. Apple’s latest Bluetooth earbuds scored 75 in Consumer Reports testing, which is lower than the Galaxy Buds score of 86.

Despite Consumer Reports being impressed by the sound quality of the Galaxy Buds, its important to note that they lack active noise cancellation. They also don’t enjoy the same level of seamless integration with iPhones and Macs as the AirPods do. Apart from the sound quality, the tight integration of the AirPods with other products in Apple’s ecosystem is a major usability win that cannot be ignored here.
