From first-time, gushing dads to veterans, celebrity dads and their families recognized Father’s Day this weekend with a host of sweet social media posts.
Among the new fathers were Prince Harry and “Watch What Happens Live” host Andy Cohen.
Among the more seasoned fathers honored were Golden State Warrior Stephen Curry, actor Neil Patrick Harris, Pink’s husband, Carey Hart, and Carrie Underwood‘s spouse, Mike Fisher. Tom Hanks son, Colin Hanks, made us snicker with his one-of-a-kind tribute.
We read touching tributes, wise words and we got an eyeful of celeb photos.
Prince Harry and Duchess Megan posted a close-up of Harry holding Archie to their joint Instagram account.
“Happy Father’s Day! And wishing a very special first Father’s Day to The Duke of Sussex,” the post read.
Ayesha Curry lauded her husband, the Golden State Warriors superstar, as a superstar father to their three children.
“Happy Father’s Day my baby. You’re the best. There’s nothing else I can say. YOU SIR, ARE UNMATCHED. JUST THE BEST.”
“And I need to ask: If a woman is willing to provide the gift of life to a man like me, or a couple struggling with infertility, why should the government be able to tell her what she can do with her body? It’s past time to end NY’s ban on surrogacy & pass the Child-Parent Security Act.”
Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka
The “A Series of Unfortunate Events” actor praised his entertainer and cookbook author husband on Instagram as a father to their two kids, Gideon Scott and Harper Grace.
“Happy Father’s Day to my husband, David Burtka. He continues to prioritize parenting in a way I never thought was possible. Selfless, creative, kind, stylish – just, everything. Our children shine in his light, and are better people, thanks to him,” Harris wrote.
And Burtka wrote his own post, saying, “Happy Fathers Day to the best pop I know. You are caring, patient, fun and most I of all, full of LOVE. Thank you @NPH for being the best Co-parent a dad could share this wondrous life with.”
“The Twilight Zone” TV series actress shared a series of pictures on Twitter of her father, Stan, an accomplished director of shows like “Def Comedy Jam,” and “The Steve Harvey Show.”
The singer’s husband, Carey Hart, wrote a sweet tribute to her in his post about Father’s Day.
“My greatest achievement in life is being a father. Mama @pink chose me to be Papa to these two amazing children, and I thank you for that!!!,” he wrote. “Though I’m not religious, I thank god every day for these two. Happy father’s day to all the real men out there.”
The musician shared a painting his 20-month-old son Adonis made for him featuring the stenciled word “Papa” in green, yellow, pink and blue dots.
“Happy Fathers Day,” the caption read.
The country music star wished her husband, Mike Fisher, a happy Father’s Day, posting a photo of him holding their son Jacob, born in January, along with son Isaiah and the family dog.
“I feel like this picture pretty much sums up fatherhood!” she captioned the photo. “To all the frog catching, bedtime story reading, wrestling, diaper changing, outside playing, adventure seeking, tickling, cuddling, loving dads out there, Happy Father’s Day!”
Kendall Jenner shared a throw-back photo of her father with nothing more than a red heart on her Instagram.
Caitlyn Jenner, meanwhile, shared photos of her own father, William, and gave shout-outs to “all the dads in my life.” Included in the post were pictures of sonsBurt and Brandon Jenner with their children, Kanye West with daughter North, Rob Kardashian with daughter Dream, Scott Disick with daughter Penelope and Kylie Jenner’s boyfriend, Travis Scott, with daughter Stormi.
Kim Kardashian, who only last month welcomed the family’s fourth child into the world, declared her husband the “best daddy.”
“Happy Fathers Day! You are the best daddy to our kids!!! We love you so much!”
Simpson told everyone that her husband, Eric Johnson, is a hall of fame father.
“Anyone that knows my husband Eric would agree that he is hands down the best Father in the world,” she wrote. “Happy Father’s Day baby! Thank you for always putting love first. This family of 5 loves you with all of our hearts.”
Hanks’ son Colin pays tribute to his dad with an extremely touching message and an equally confusing picture. That’s what makes it so funny.
“Happy Father’s Day, to all dads out there but specifically to my dad,” he writes. “He’s a good man and always leads by example.”
The rest of the message describes the time he unsuccessfully rallied the guys at the Assan Motors plant to make 15,000 cars a month, “but it was the effort that counts! Way to go Dad!” The movie is “Gung Ho” and the man in the photo is Michael Keaton, not Tom Hanks.
Wife Behati Prinsloo shared a family picture of the Maroon 5 front man and their two daughters, Dusty Rose and Gio Grace, on Instagram. The former Victoria’s Secret model said earlier she’s glad that Levine’s done as a coach on “The Voice” and will have some downtime with the family.
“We love you so much, you always put your family first, me and the girls are so lucky to have you,” she wrote.
Captain America took a moment to give a shout-out to fathers everywhere while posting a throwback photo on Twitter.
“Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there who understand the importance of love, encouragement, patience, listening, and lollipops.”
James Van der Beek
The father of five and “Dawson’s Creek” alum wished a happy Father’s Day to “all the imperfect dads out there” in a post that is thoughtful and brimming with wisdom.
“For me, being a father means having that quiet little voice inside of you that says ‘Be a better man,’ get louder and more consistent… to the point where you can’t really remember where that voice ends and where you begin,” he wrote. “…being a father also comes with an unshakable awareness that all your actions have consequences – context that reaches far beyond your own self-interest.”
