Oregon quarterback Braxton Burmeister intends to seek to transfer from the University sources confirmed with Duck Sports Authority on Friday. A four-star prospect out of La Jolla (Calif.) Country Day played in four games in 2018 and had three years of eligibility remaining.
The 6-foot-1, 206-pound sophomore played in four games last season after playing seven in relief of an injured Justin Herbert his true freshman season. Burmeister completed 49 of 87 passes for 373 yards with two touchdowns and six interceptions for his career.
With Justin Herbert returning for his senior season, the backup duties will fall to Tyler Shough who redshirted in 2018 after limited participation in three games. Snoqualmie (Wash.) Mount Si standout Cale Millen will be added to the roster for the 2019 season leaving three scholarship quarterbacks heading into the season.
The Ducks will certainly be looking to sign another quarterback for the class of 2019 and are in the mix for the nation’s No. 1- rated prospect, D.J. Uigagalelei along with several other top gunslingers.
